Chef / Owner Shannon Robinson has many years of catering and restaurant experience. Graduating top of her class from Algonquin College's culinary arts program, Shannon started her career working for one of Ottawa's premier catering companies. She then moved to Café Henry Burger, working under Chef Robert Bourassa. Entrepreneurial spirit motivated her to start Cloud 9 Catering in the late 90's. This proved to be a wonderful success in the corporate catering market.

Shannon's husband's career created an opportunity to move to San Francisco and travel extensively. Capitalizing on this opportunity, Shannon toured numerous cities across Canada and the United States to further her culinary knowledge and experience. Highlights included attending courses at The Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley and obtaining an intern position working under well-known pastry chef Emily Luchetti at Farallon. Farallon is one of San Francisco's premiere restaurants owned by Pat Kuleto.

Returning to Ottawa sparked the creation of Distinguished Dishes, which specializes in menus and presentation that stimulate the eye as well as the palate. Unique wedding receptions, corporate catering, and parties from 10 - 200 people are the heart of the business.
